Luidia Unveils Cloud-Based Interactive Whiteboard Tool

Luidia has recently rolled out the beta version of a cloud solution that allows lectures to be viewed and manipulated remotely from tablets and other computers while providing interactive whiteboard functionality without the board.

Combined with a projector and a computer, the new solution, eBeam Connect, can annotate, highlight, and draw over uploaded slides, slides created within the solution, and uploaded images during a lecture or presentation.

The solution's remote access capabilities grant teachers the ability to control lecture aids from a connected computer and give students the ability to manipulate the same set of tools provided to the teachers, a scroll bar to navigate through slides, and a toolbar used to manipulate annotations, allowing them to answer questions, solve problems, and upload pictures related to class projects.

Luidia launches beta version of eBeam Connect to connect whiteboards with iPads and smartphones

Luidia has announced the availability of eBeam Connect web-based software that allows teachers and students to interact from web-enabled devices like iPads and other tablets.

eBeamConnect and (the forthcoming) SnapCam are part of the company’s new beta program, eBeamLabs.com.

The program’s mission is to give teachers and students early access to new unreleased products.

Available to everyone without the need for special hardware or software, eBeam Connect provides a browser-to-browser experience, where any number of teachers and students can start/join interactive sessions to create, capture and share content in real time.

On mobile devices like iPads, tablets and smartphones, teachers and students can use touch technology or a stylus to share notes and diagrams, brainstorm, vote and more.

For example, a teacher can assign a math problem set and break up the students, who may be working on individual iPads or tablets, into groups.  Through eBeam Connect, the teacher can digitally view each student’s progress in real-time by clicking through each of the user sessions on their mobile device.

eBeam Connect, a New Web-based Software to Enhance e-Learning

eBeam Connect, a new web-based software, has been introduced by Luidia, Inc., creator of the interactive eBeam technology. It allows teachers and students to interact from web-enabled devices, like iPads and other tablets.

According to a press release, eBeam Connect and other upcoming products will kick off the company’s new beta program, eBeamLabs.com. The program’s mission is to give teachers and students early access to new and unreleased products so that they can provide direct feedback to Luidia’s product development team.

“Until recently, a classroom generally had just one computing device, which was usually a single desktop computer for the teacher,” said Jody Forehand, VP of Product Planning, Luidia. “As the use of Internet-enabled mobile devices skyrockets, and as teachers and parents recognize the importance of technology for increasing student engagement in this generation of ‘digital natives,’ we’re seeing an explosion of devices in the classroom, including laptops, iPads, and a variety of other Windows and Android (News - Alert) tablets.”
